This design consisted of a renovation of Media Center and Office Area to create a new secure entry.

This renovation creates a secure entry by installing secondary doors within the main corridors.  This funnels visitors directly into the office across the hall from the main entry vestibule.  Safety film was added to all glazing at the front entry and office areas which will add precious time for staff to notify authorities in the event of unwanted or hostile intruders.  

The renovation also incorporated extensive use of electronic door hardware that is designed to be fail-safe in the event of a power outage meaning that students and staff can always exit the facility, but intruders can’t enter.  By looking at this project both through the lens of life safety and safety and security, we were truly able to provide a safer facility for students and staff.
