Project Description:

The new Emergency Department/Intensive Care Unit addition and renovation project for Goshen Hospital represents a very complex architectural project in terms of not only its design but also its construction staging.  Both of the existing Emergency and ICU departments had to stay open during the construction, so great care was taken to develop Interim Life-Safety, Infection Control Risk Assessment, Patient Access and Public Wayfinding plans for the construction effort.

Hallmarks of the design include visual access to each treatment area, enclosed ED nurses station for sound control, and ICU rooms with separate family areas, which can be curtained off from the patient area for privacy during certain patient-care procedures.
